Sophos Chrome Security: Unified Endpoint Management for Chrome Devices
Sophos Chrome Security is a Chrome extension developed by Sophos Limited. It is a part of the Sophos Mobile client for Chrome devices, offering Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) capabilities. With this extension, companies can easily manage, control, and secure their Chrome devices, including Chromebooks, from a single web console.
One of the key features of Sophos Chrome Security is the Web Filtering functionality. This allows organizations to block web pages that contain malicious, undesirable, or illegal content. The web filtering uses up-to-the-minute intelligence from SophosLabs, ensuring that devices are protected even when not connected to the organization's network.
In addition to web filtering, the extension also allows users to locate their devices and send messages to them. This can be useful in case of lost or stolen devices.
To use Sophos Chrome Security, users need to have a Mobile Advanced or an Intercept X for Mobile license. Manual enrollment is required, where users sign in to Chrome with their corporate Google account, add the extension from the Chrome Web Store, and enter the enrollment token. Alternatively, organizations using G Suite can configure auto-enrollment with Sophos Mobile.
